Gisli Helgason the host of Landinn and his cameraman Karl SIgtryggsson came to my studio last week for an interview. They had such a relaxed dispostion that I totally forgot there was a camera running most of the time. Lovely men and so interested in my work. The interview took over four hours. Landinn is a television show part of the Icelandic national television RUV and is aired on prime time after Sunday dinner through out winter starting from next Sept. 13th. Our episode was aired on the Sept. 20th and we are featured in the second segment. It is all in Icelandic however I think you will enjoy our bit and the one before that showes magnificent glacier rivers and how they constantly changing the landscape. Enjoy

When Gisli saw this lava rug he instantly reacted and said “I know this one!” I looked at him perplexed as it was created purely out of my imagination.. then he continued “I was there when this lava stream fell from the edge of a cliff at the eruption at Fimmvorduhals in 2010” Then he stroked it smiling like meeting an old friend.
It is not the first time I have people react to my rugs and when it happens my heart takes a leap of joy.
The new rug Dragon Lava or in Icelandic Drekahraun photosession at Reynisfjara in s-Iceland. This beautiful place is the perfect backdrop for the rugs. Here the Dragon Lava rug is photographed with Reynisdrangar in the background. We had to be there quite early to beat the tourists. We nearly did that however the 10 people enjoying the black lava beach were not in our way so everything went by the book and we finished the photoshoot on time.
This beautiful hot lava rug Dragon Lava is made of pure Icelandic wool and is of irregular size is: ca. 1,45 meters long and ca. 0,92 meters wide widest.
